a small bachelor apartment.
Type: 5. Frequency — Although bachelorette apartment is also found in the US, its frequency in Canada is much higher (see Chart 1). In some instances, the term is used to refer to a single person dwelling, or bachelor apartment, for women (see, e.g. the 1955 and 1999 quotations). In other cases, however, bachelorette apartment is used indiscriminately of the gender of the occupant (see, e.g. the 1988 and 1992 quotations).
